BECK 51 - Vilhelm

Three young men dressed as delivery men seduce a middle-aged couple in a luxury apartment in Stockholm. At first it looks like a brutal robbery, but before they leave the apartment the man is shot dead with three shots to the head. Vilhelm's patrol is the first to arrive at the murder scene. The man and the woman are sitting duct-taped to separate chairs in the living room. Vilhelm is changed since the hostage situation, the trauma is haunting him and he is plagued by nightmares and sleep problems. When Vilhelm is assigned to a private shadow investigation, he is called directly to the new police chief Ebba Staring;hl. Instead of supporting Vilhelm, he becomes a resource for the Beck Group. Martin Beck now has a consulting role in another part of the police station.

BECK 52 - The Invisible Man

When Alex receives a call about a murder, she decides to invite Vilhelm to accompany her and Josef to the scene. That one seems to be connected to a digital university called Howl, which is discussing how people fit into this new world. Martin, who now works in another part of the police station, has reason to visit the department when the forensic report from the murder matches a person they saw in one of Martin's investigations into the so-called "Balcony Man". The case highlights a new type of masculinity, where men today recognise that they need to become even more manly in order to maintain their dignity. Men need women to laugh at them while women need to be judged.
